My Christmas Wish

Updated: Dec 5, 2018

"And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see." This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time." (Habakkuk 2:3)

Merry Christmas and Happy Year 2019 - The Stirlings

I am one of those people who likes to be expectant about what God is going to do. He has given us the ability to see glimpses of His plans for our future. It is our job to seek His revelation and believe that it will come to pass; it is God's job to do what otherwise is impossible for us.

Several Christmas ago, I remember the moment in which I asked God for a very special gift: a husband who came from His own hand. As a young single woman I felt ready to move on into the next season of my life. I was expectant and excited of what God was going to do!

That next year however, I didn't receive the gift I had so much longed for. But I saw all the hard work God had done in my heart to prepare me to receive the blessing. Even if the promise had not arrived, I knew it was coming. I never felt that God had not heard my prayer. I just trusted that our loving God knows better when is the right time to gives us His precious promises.

In His perfect timing the so much expected gift arrived. A tender love that is beautiful and overflowing, that grows stronger over time. Many times I thought that God's answer seemed to be delayed, but it wasn't. It just had to be that way, so that my story would unfold just like He had planned it.

Today as I contemplate my Christmas tree, new dreams and wishes have come: starting a family, releasing the book that God inspired in me many years ago: Love On Hold: Waiting on the Man of God, touching and impacting many women's lives through this ministry, and the list goes on. Over the years I have learned that the greatest blessings of God might take time to come, but once they come they are always worth the wait.

What is your Christmas wish or vision for 2019? Perhaps it is healing for you or someone you love, or restoration for your family, or a new job, or starting your own business, or a spouse. Whatever it might be, write down the vision in your heart, write what you see. Even if the vision seems slow in coming, just wait in God. It is on the way!

I pray that 2019 be the year of godly visions and dreams fulfilled in your life. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Cintia Stirling.
